The pitch

There are hundreds of alternative finance providers accross the UK and businessagent.com is bringing them all together on one portal.

Banks are closing branches, lending 8% less YoY to businesses and are paying little or no interest to savers. As a result of this there is huge growth in equity crowdfunding and alternative lending (£25 Billion in USA & UK alone in 2015 growing by 84% p.a.). Governments are supporting the growth with P2P, Innovative Finance ISA’s, EIS and SEIS. Small to Medium Enterprises & investors lack a single place to compare alternative finance platforms to find investments and funding and exiting a Crowdfunded or Angel investment is currently difficult or impossible.

Businessagent.com has invested £500k in creating the alternative finance market place a one stop FCA regulated space where all the alternative finance companies market their services. They have technology that collects data from over 100 alternative finance providers every minute of the day and their software tracks users which allows them to charge a commision on every transaction found through the site. They are also creating a secondary market to allow investors to exit from their investments and are in advance stage negotiations with Europes largest share match bargain specialist, their CEO Malcolm Burne has taken a significant stake in businessagent.com on this funding round.

businessagent.com are raising between £200k and £750k. The lower figure will enable them to exploit the opportunities they have created at a satisfactory pace. With the higher amount the growth rate will naturally increase.

In January this year ADVFN Plc took a stake in businessagent.com giving them access to 4M visitors and the company is now revenue generating growing month by month.

This equity crowdfund will allow businessagent.com to monetise the traffic they are receiving and increase the valuation of the business.

You will notice that the business plan has forecast a £2M cash injection. Within the next 12 months businessagent.com is looking to raise an additional £1.5M from a strategic investor at a higher valuation.

They plan to increase traffic from the current c50,000 visitors and 160 loan enquiries per month to 250,000 visitors and 700 loan enquiries per month as well as monetising their traffic flow.

To achieve this target businessagent.com need to expand its development, operations and sales teams. They will build connecting software to the IFA platforms to take advantage of the new Alternative Finance ISA and access the c£60bn ISA market. Finally funds to build the platform to target the £5bn secondary share trading market.
